'Anyang Cup 2008' starts tonight. Sep. 03, 08

Pre-season games 'Anyang Cup 2008' will take place from tonight to 7th in Anyang, Korea.

Organizer Asia League Ice Hockey
Co-organizers Korea Ice Hockey Association, Japan Ice Hockey Federation, Chinese Ice Hockey Association
Playing Format Each team will play against 3 teams out of 4 other participating teams. Teams ranking will be decided by points.
Determination of Winner If the game is tied at the end of the third period, teams will play immediately 5-minute sudden victory overtime 4 on 4.
If no goal is scored in the overtime, then the Game Winning Shots (hereinafter called “GWS”) procedure will apply. Three different shooters from each team will take the shots alternately until a decisive goal is scored.
If the result is still tied after 3 shots by each team, the procedure will continue with a sudden victory shootout until a decisive goal is scored.
(In the GWS, the same player cannot be used until the 6th player from each team takes the shot.)
Points Points will be awarded as follows;
60-minute Win 3pts
OT Win or GWS Win 2pts
OT Loss or GWS Loss 1pt
60-minute Loss 0pt
<Tie-breaking Criteria>
In accordance with the Asia League Playing Rules.
Playing Rules In accordance with the IIHF International Playing Rules (except for the duration of overtime)

【Note】
Suspensions for Game Misconduct or Match Penalties assessed during this Games will not be carried over to 2008-2009 Asia League games and those penalties will not count in the League games, in principle.
However, for infractions that the AL Deliberation Committee regarded serious and vicious enough, the Committee may assess additional suspension.
