Roos Tarpals is official: NEGTC, page 26: "Jar Jar was working as a vagrant shudderup musician--passerby would pay money to make the music stop--when he was discovered by local lawbreaker Roos Tarpals."

Well, then this means we would finally have confirmation of his first name. I knew I had seen it somewhere and since I don't own that book (too much EU) I couldn't check it ...

How cannonical are the creatures from Galaxy Magazine's "Design an Alien" Contest? I know some of the material -- viz., the entry which stated that Master Yoda was trained on Dagobah --was personally overridden by George Lucas. What of entries that did not win but were declared "Honorable Mentions"? Some of the stories assign sentient indigenes to Hoth, Bespin, Dagobah, and Yavin IV, and I was curious about Lucas Licensing's official position on such entires. Personally, I've always loved theHepsalum Tash of Dagobah. Maybe they and the rest of the DaA creatures could be rehabilitated into mainstream canon sometime...
One question Mr Chan, was Sidious ever directly stated to be the most powerful sith ever, by his time, because I for one can actually see Bane becoming much more powereful than him, and we're arguing potentials at the KMC forum.

I try to avoid the speculation and debate-resolving type questions, so I apologize in advance if I don't respond. If the answer can be found in an official source, I'll try to provide it. For anything beyond that, I'll tend to leave things unresolved.

I think he already answered that one here Thanks for the redirect!
One more questions: is this character's name canonically 'Anavus Svag'? I didn't see it anywhere in the Tales of the Jedi paperback, and I admit I'm somewhat suspicious about info from Wiki sites. Thanks!

As a Wookieepedia administrator, I will tell you that this is absolutely the RIGHT attitude to have. I helped write our "general disclaimer" which states that "none of the information on Wookieepedia is guaranteed to be accurate."
Having said that, I will also say that I think our record is pretty good. Which is why you often see Wookieepedians on this thread asking continuity questions. Fox News says "we report, you decide." Wookieepedia says "Leland decides, we report."

s this character's name canonically 'Anavus Svag'? Anavus Svag is a Jedi Holocron personality described in the The Power of the Jedi Sourcebook. Though the description may have been intended by the author to match the unnamed Jedi from the Golden Age of the Sith comics, the connection has never been officially made.
Tasty, can you confirm that the Death Star Designer minigame (www.deathstardesigner.com) is part of continuity, or at least that elements of it are? My assumption was "yes," given that it's an official game tie-in, but I wanted to be sure for Wooki[eepedia] purposes. There are some neat new bits of (potential) continuity in there, and whoever was behind it obviously took care to do some research.

Tasty, can you confirm that the Death Star Designer minigame (www.deathstardesigner.com) is part of continuity Websites go to Licensing for approval just as any other part of a game or book. Stats are balanced for "gameplay" purposes and obviously certain things like the ferris wheel and roller coaster (nods to Thrillville) and the spa (nod to Lego Star Wars II) are thrown in for fun. Also, keep in mind that this is a sandbox feature that allows for non-continuity possibilites like the early development of galaxy guns and world devastators. But yes, anything on there that is new is potential continuity that goes into the Holocron.
Anavus Svag is a Jedi Holocron personality described in the The Power of the Jedi Sourcebook...the connection has never been officially made. Thank you for the clarification, sir!

Having said that, I will also say that I think our record is pretty good. I certainly trust Wookieepedia more than any other Wiki out there. I agree that you folks have maintained an excellent site (thanks, by the way, for the informative, comprehensive database). There is some minor rumormongering and/or vandalization, but it's always excised pretty swiftly. You "do what must be done!"
As a Wookieepedia administrator, I will tell you that this is absolutely the RIGHT attitude to have. As I said, I'd sooner resort to Wookieepedia than Wikipedia Central, but I think a certain degree of suspicion is due when perusing any online site. To a large degree, I think the internet is controlled by "little brothers": not vast cabals like Orwell's Big Brother, but individual fringe nutcases who happen to have the technical expertise to insert their propaganda into the web.
