Education: Post-Graduate studies in Development and Reconstruction Bachelor Degree in Engineering.

Following the formation of the National Unity Government, Engineer Nasir Ahmad Durrani was nominated to serve as the Minister of Rural Rehabilitation and Development of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, where his nomination received a strong vote of confidence by the Afghan Wolesi Jirga (Parliament) on January 28, 2015 and on February 1, 2015 he was sworn into office.

Prior to this, Minister Durrani served as the Deputy Minister for Solid Mines in the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum. He worked in this position for five years and brought about significant achievements particularly in the area of upholding legal extraction of mines. In 2010, Minister Durrani successfully prevented illegal extraction in 194 coal mines in Bamyan.
