Remote management from a single desktop Using Adaptec CI/O software on any Windows client, managers can remotely monitor the I/O performance of any server on the network from a single, central location. Adaptec CI/O software maps the status and performance of all SCSI peripherals attached to any network server with Adaptec host adapters. It polls SCSI busses and automatically notifies the manager of any changes in status, such as additions to the I/O subsystem configuration or device failures.

Failure detection in an instant

With Adaptec CI/O software, managers can pinpoint I/O problems without leaving their desks. The software automatically detects failure of any SCSI device on a network server and notifies the manager immediately.

Easy update of device drivers

Keeping SCSI device drivers consistent and up to date on every server in the network used to be a time-consuming and labor-intensive challenge. Not any longer. Using the Adaptec CI/O software graphical interface, the manager simply highlights the target server on the network map and logs on remotely. Then, a quick click of a button installs the latest drivers.

Performance profile at a glance

Adaptec CI/O software can display the performance profile of every SCSI device attached to network servers. In addition, managers can view the profiles of several servers at once for rapid comparison. Adaptec CI/O software gives managers the flexibility to tailor the profile for easy interpretation. Managers can choose the performance parameters to display and set the sampling rate from 1 to 60 minutes. Then the data can be viewed in a choice of graph styles. With a clear view of I/O traffic, managers can spot bottlenecks and act quickly to balance I/O loads to optimize performance among SCSI devices.

A truly scaleable enterprise I/O solution, Adaptec CI/O software improves the manageability of any size network-from a single server to a global network of hundreds. Because it is based on the HP OpenView network management platform, Adaptec CI/O software can integrate with other HP OpenView network management tools. As a result, the network managers can create a complete management environment with a consistent and integrated interface.
