GM CARD HEAD JOINS MARKETING FIRM BOARD

Snyder Communications, Inc. (NYSE: SNC) today announced that Philip Guarascio, Vice President of Marketing and Advertising for General Motors North American Operations, has joined the Board of Directors of this rapidly growing marketing services company. The appointment of Mr. Guarascio expands Snyder's Board of Directors to eight members.

Mr. Guarascio, 55, is responsible for increasing marketing effectiveness and efficiency for GM's North American vehicle divisions, worldwide advertising resource management, consolidated media placement and corporate image advertising. He also oversees the GM Credit Card operations.

Commenting on the appointment, Snyder's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Daniel M. Snyder, said, "Philip Guarascio is one of the premier marketing and communications executives in the country. His experience and industry stature will be of enormous value to Snyder Communications as we move forward with our growth plans."

Mr. Guarascio joined GM in 1985 after 21 years with the New York advertising agency of Benton & Bowles, Inc. (now D'Arcy, Masius, Benton & Bowles). He is Vice-Chairman of the American Advertising Federation, past Chairman of the Association of National Advertisers and is active in several other professional and civic organizations.
