SALSA for the Desktop, A Database for Non-Programmers, From
Wall Data SALSA for the Desktop is a business application builder, a software program that lets mainstream Microsoft® Windows® users create their own custom applications to keep track of information they care about on a PC. There is no need to learn programming or database technology. SALSA for the Desktop is unique because it allows users to "describe" their need, and then it builds the custom application automatically!

In September, General Meetings returned to Mondays at 7:00 pm at the National Institutes of Health, Masur Auditorium (west on Center Drive from Rockville Pike [Wisconsin Avenue]), Clinical Center, Building 10, at West Drive), 9000 Rockville Pike, Bethesda, Maryland. (Map)

Starting in September, at some General Meetings the Q&A; session at 7:00 pm before the main presentation is being replaced by a Special Interest Group (SIG) presentation--watch this space and MIX Notice Conference (47) for more information.

Before our November, December, and January General Meetings, representatives of some of our 27 SIGs will be available from 6:00 to 7:00 pm in the cafeteria to answer questions about their SIGs, and maybe even a software question or two! In February these sessions will follow the General Meeting. This experiment started in October. Let us know whether you find it useful and also whether you would prefer these sessions to follow rather than precede General Meetings. If there's enough interest, maybe we'll have some of each!
