RMA Instructions To obtain a Return Material Authorization number (RMA) for a defective drive, please contact Western Digital Technical Support Department. Please do not return any product without a RMA number. Unauthorized returns will not be accepted. Once you have obtained an RMA number, please see the Packaging Requirements for Return Products. Automated Technical Support In an effort to maintain our position as the industry leader in technical support, Western Digital has added a new feature to its customer phone support and on-line services. This new interactive diagnostic service will walk you through a series of questions on the most common problems experienced with Western Digital hard drives, and direct you to a solution. You have the option of having the system replay any given message, back up a step in the process, and even assign a call back number which will allow them to call back and take up the process at the same point where they left off on their previous call. By utilizing Western Digital’s expert knowledge base of technical information, this automated system is frequently capable of resolving common drive problems such as bad sector issues, drive configuration problems or drive boot problems in 5 minutes or less. To reach this new service, call Western Digital’s Technical Support number at (714) 932-4900 and from the main message, select option 4, then option 2 or visit the on-line version of the Automated Technical Support referred to as the "Expert Troubleshooter." You may access the Technical Support Bulletin Board, 7 days a week, 24 hours a day if you have a Hayes-compatible modem with a 2,400 to 28,800 baud rate. The following format is required: 8 data bits, 1 stop bit, and no parity.
