ZD NSM Contest #1 (April 22, 1999 - May 7, 1999)

This month's goal is to beat Metroid in the fastest time possible. Following are the rules:

1) You must beat Metroid in NESticle from beginning to end in one session. To record the NES
movie (NSM), load the Metroid ROM, go to 'CPU', then to 'NES movie', and then 'record'. Play
the game from start to finish (you must beat Mother Brain, then escape. The game is over 
after the escape). When you've beaten it, go back to 'NES movie', then 'stop'. The person 
who beats Metroid in the quickest time wins!
2) You may not use any cheat codes, Game Genie codes (they won't work anyway with NES movie
recording), passwords, or any other such cheating. You must complete the game from beginning
to end. (The bubble door 'warp' bug counts as cheating).
3) Multiple NSMs from one person will NOT be accepted. If you submit NSMs multiple times,
all of your submissions will be deleted.
4) Do NOT ask me or the ZD staff where to obtain a Metroid ROM. If you don't have the ROM,
you might want to buy a copier.
5) Past and present ZD staff members are not eligible for the contest, sorry.
6) Entries are due NO LATER than May 7, 1999. NO EXCEPTIONS.
7) When complete, zip the NSM file and send it to zophar@voicenet.com. Include a text file 
with your name & e-mail address.

The prize: A free 3-month 'basic' shell account from http://mercury.ztnet.com . It includes
10 MB of space, 1 background process (yep, even an eggdrop), 1 e-mail account, and much 
more. This will be awarded to the person with the fastest time in Metroid who followed all 
of the above rules.
