Klahoose


The Klahoose people are part of what is known as the 'West Coast Culture Area'. The Klahoose have occupied the area which included Ramsay Arm, East Redonda Island, West Rodanda Island, all of Toba Inlet and Cortes Island, where their main reserve of Squirrel Cove is located. Their 10 reserves cover a total area of l357 hectares..

They speak a dialect of the 'Comox' language called Mainland Comox, which is part of the Coast Salish branch of the Salishan language family.
