Old Massett Village Council


The Massett Indian Reserve No. 1 is located approximately 7 km west of the Village of Massett, B.C., on Graham Island of the Queen Charlotte Islands. The community, known as Haida Village fronts into Massett Sound, a sheltered embayment of the Dixon Entrance from the Pacific Ocean. It is located on 907.7 hectares; 26 reserves.

Formerly known as the Massett Band; Masset comes from the Haida name "Maast". The meaning of "Maast" is unknown. The band is part of the Haida linguistic group.
