Treaty Negotiations in British Columbia

A treaty is a negotiated agreement that will spell out the rights, responsibilities and relationships of First Nations and the federal and provincial governments. The negotiation process is likely to deal with far-reaching issues such as land ownership, self-government, wildlife and environmental management, sharing resources, financial benefits and taxation.
