Stellat'en


Two reserves on 834 hectares, located about 150 km west of Prince George on Highway 16. The majority of band members living on reserve reside on Stellaquo (Stella) I.R. #1.

The name is derived from two Carrier words, the one meaning "peninsula" and the other "river". The reserves were allotted by Commissioner O'Reilly in 1892. The band belongs to the Carrier linguistic group.
