Lyackson

Three reserves on 745 hectares, located on Valdes Island off the east coast of Vancouver Island. There are no roads, wharfs or dock facilities and the nearest community is Ladysmith, B.C. There are two small communities located on the Lyackson #3 and Shingle Point #4 reserves. The reserves were allotted by the Joint Reserve Commission in 1877.
The Lyackson Band is part of the Coast Salish linguistic group.
