The home page, or "starting page" of The Globe Online is important for numerous reasons:
- It contains the stories that ran on "page one" of The Boston Globe's print edition;
- It contains the latest stories throughout the course of the day;
- It offers complete navigation to the entire site.
You can always get to the Globe's home page by hitting the "Home" button in the upper-left corner -- it looks like this:

What stories are here?
The Boston Globe Online includes three types of stories:
- Articles written by Globe staff writers;
- Selected articles by Globe freelance writers;
- Late-breaking stories by the Associated Press and Reuters
How do I search?
We provide a simple form on every page for searching stories from today's paper and yesterday's paper. The form looks like this:
What about older stories?
To find stories that ran in The Boston Globe over the past 15 years, you can search The Globe's archives. Certain fees apply.
When is the site "online?"
A first edition of The Boston Globe is online every day at 6 a.m. EST, and the final edition is online at 8 a.m. EST. Latest news from the AP, however, is updated every few minutes, 24 hours per day.
