If you are interested in desktop solutions for Biocomputing Software,
Academic Computing offers subscriptions to the 'DNAStar' LaserGene Biocomputing
Software for the Macintosh and PC (Windows).
It is divided into modules:

Sequence Analysis
A program that finds ORF's, Stop codons, Start codons, Motifs, Repeats,
Polyadenylation sites, Base composition etc.

For Primer and Probe design and analysis
Creats primers under required conditions and specifications

PROTEAN
For Protein Sequence Analysis
Gives information about beta sheets, alpha helices, antigenic determinants
etc.

MEGALIGN
For Multiple and paired Sequence Alignment
Does Alignment, translate,create phylogeny, built summaries and decorate
alignments.

MAPDRAW
For Restriction Analysis and Maps

SEQMAN
For Sequencing
Assembles sequence information, removes vector data etc.

For Database Acquisition
