Network connections & services
The Medical School network provides access to a variety
of computing and information services, including electronic mail, remote access (PPP), and mainframe computing. Find out what network connection is best for you.
Network security is the mission of the Information Security Office, which provides extensive information and advice on how to protect your computer.
Web Design and Development provides a comprehensive range of Web services. As the Yale Center for Advanced Instructional Media we also offer multimedia teaching software and Web sites, and CD publications for medical continuing education.
Client and Technology Services provides direction and focus for the technology aspects of centralized computing activities at the School of Medicine. The group's general responsibilities range from day-to-day management of systems in the data center to the implementation of new hardware and software.
The Systems Support unit provides network clients with account access for email, Meeting Maker scheduling, backup service, remote access (PPP), Oracle applications access (Project X), internet and admininstrative applications. Systems Support implements client network connectivity and configuration by coordinating with Desktop Support, Help Desk and Yale Telecommunications staff.
ITS-Med Computing Services Detailed Information document offers information on the many computing options and services available at the School of Medicine, and at the Main Campus computing facilities.
Net IDs & passwordsEach current member of the Yale community has been assigned a unique network identification (NetID). A NetID is used to access many different computer resources at Yale University.
Several of these systems maintain their own databases of accounts and passwords. Because each system has its own tools for account and password management, it is possible to have different passwords on different systems.

Publishing on the info.med.yale.edu web server
The School of Medicine has established the info.med.yale.edu web server
for Medical Center organizations and departments
to publish institutional information. Upon request, all
authorized organizations within the Medical Center will
be provided with an account and space on the Medical Center
server for publishing information.
