The Legacy of the Quake II Engine
With the release of Quake II, companies lined up to license id's impressive graphics engine. Out of these partnerships came a mixed bag of games:
  • Half Life: Brilliant storytelling in a first-person shooter.
  • Heretic 2: Using the engine for a third-person shooter looked marvelous.
  • Sin: Buggy and disappointing.
  • Soldier of Fortune: This soon-to-be-released realistic blood bath looks to push the engine to its limit.
