No MSR on Xbox 3/8/01 17:23

Daily Radar has learned that British developers Bizarre Creations will not be showing the highly-regarded Metropolis Street Racer at next week's Gamestock conference in Seattle. Instead, the developers are working on a very similar game with a street racing theme. Details are sketchy right now, but the game supposedly features the same three cities as MSR (Tokyo, San Francisco, and London) and introduces New York into the mix. Early reports indicate that the game is absolutely stunning, even eclipsing Sony's upcoming Gran Turismo 3 A-Spec.

The underwater action game is currently making the rounds as a tech demo for the NV20 graphics chip (news story), and is scheduled to appear on the PC later this fall. There is no word on when the Xbox version of the game will be available, although the fact that the game is designed to explicitly take advantage of DirectX 8 and nVidia's newest graphics chip suggests that the conversion to the Xbox should not take very long.

Following news in the UK that many retailers will not be stocking the vaguely controversial Conker's Bad Fur Day, US retailer KB Toys has decided that the game is also too risque for its younger customers and will not be stocking the product. Perhaps unsurprisingly, Nintendo's own publication, Nintendo Power, will not be supporting the game with any editorial coverage, given the magazine's very young target demographic.
