 Missile Proliferation 2001
"Active defence options and
policy considerations"

The unique and successful annual Jane’s Missile Proliferation Conference returns for a third year on 12-13 November in Edinburgh to focus on missile defence options and policy considerations associated with the developing ballistic and cruise missile capabilities around the world.

With the issue of missile defence set to become of greater importance for governments around the world as moves to deploy missile defence systems gathers pace, MP2001 will provide those needing to understand and respond to the challenges of active defence and missile proliferation with a valuable forum to interact with key policy staffs involved in or with close ties to the decision making process.

You will hear representatives from key industries involved in developing missile defence systems exploring active defence options and expected performance capabilities. This will include international and political implications of active missile defences, opportunities for Europe to develop its own missile defence system including various joint development initiatives, and theatre missile defences.

MP2001 will also bring together key policy officials from a wide range of countries to provide first hand accounts of their nations’ views on active missile defence and the policy issues behind their decisions to develop and possess long range missile systems. Delegates will too gain authoritative assessments of key ballistic and cruise missile capabilities.
