President Bush to Nominate James and Bryant for Positions within the Justice Department

The President today announced his intention to nominate two individuals to serve in his administration.

The President intends to nominate Charles A. James to be Assistant Attorney General overseeing the Antitrust Division.  He is currently a partner with Jones, Day, Reavis & Pogue in Washington, D.C.  His past government service includes two years in the Antitrust Division of the Justice Department as Deputy Assistant Attorney General and Acting Assistant Attorney General from 1991-1993.  He spent six years in a variety of positions with the Federal Trade Commission from 1979 to 1985.  A native of Union, New Jersey, he is a graduate of Wesleyan University in Connecticut and received his law degree from George Washington University.

The President intends to nominate Daniel J. Bryant to be Assistant Attorney General for Legislative Affairs.  He presently serves as Chief Counsel to the U.S. House Judiciary Subcommittee on Crime and served in a variety of positions at the Department of Justice from 1987 to 1992.  A native of Wilmington, Delaware, he received his B.A. and J.D. from the American University, and a master's degree from Oxford University.
