OWASP Licensing
All OWASP work is released under Copyright and license. Both the documentation license and the software license are derived from the Apache Software Foundation open source licenses. Great care was taken when choosing a licensing scheme for the community work. OWASP members firmly believe in Open Source projects that are freely available to all. The licensing models chosen are a balance between protecting the work from commercial entities claiming it to be their own, whilst making it available to all for widespread adoption in whatever form the end-users sees fit. Some Open Source licenses such as GNU and OpenContent were considered, but proved to be too restrictive on the end-user. Our decision was driven by the fact that "copyleft" licensing may result in commercial entities like security consulting practices, having to make client work open source. The OWASP wants commerce to adopt its work whilst protecting the rights of the contributors.

Essentially any user can take, modify and distribute the OWASP work including incorporating it into commercial documentation and software, as long as the copyright notice is adhered to and the origin is clearly stated. If you do not understand the entire license, you should seek a lawyers advice.
