If you're in the area, try out a tapioca drink from the Phoenix Inn's dessert shop, right next door to their restaurant on Valley Blvd in Alhambra. I had an awesome mango-coconut one with small tapioca pearls, tiny chunks of (real) mango and only the slightest bit of coconut flavoring. Truly heavenly!! Ten Ren's is also pretty good, and you get the choice of what type of tea (black or green). I opted for the lychee green tea boba last time--quite good and not syrupy-sweet like a lot of other places that serve fruit-flavored boba. |
