There is a fast-food place called Singapore Express on Lincoln just North of the 90 Freeway. I can't vouch for the laksa but the por piah was very good.
 
The best laksa I have had was at Yazmin's Malaysian restaurant on Main Street in Alhambra. It's a bit of a hike from the Westside, but the food and serevice are excellent and the prices are very low.
