The Korean Seafood Restaurant in King Harbor, based on its mention here. The fish soup (aka seafood soup) was indeed spicy hot. The kind of hot that on the first sip, you say, "Ouch I goofed, I'll never get through this", but you keep going and the heat does quiet down. The dish was okay, but not worth making a special trip for. I never eat full shrimp (head/feet/tail) - do the Koreans?, and I don't like picking and peeling them out of my broth. I found it wasn't worth it with this dish - the shrimp meat was tasteless. The two clams in the dish though were very sweet and tender. Also I ordered the seafood platter (about $9.00) which was okay. Total tab about $23.00. (I was intrigued by an octopus-noodle dish for about $15. Maybe next time if I return.)

For somebody on a real budget, try Scotty's on the Strand. (Hermosa Pier adjacent. Next pier north of King Harbor.) Look for their daily special. Friday, my wife and I each had the fish-and-chips special; I also ordered the French onion soup (fairly decent actually)and the always-refilled iced-tea (unsweetened Lipton style); my wife had a glass of wine and a small salad. Total tab including tax: just under $15. The fish ain't the greatest, but okay. Sitting in a window booth, there's an excellent view of the beach and people walking/jogging/etc. along the strand just outside. Also a nice sunset if you go at the right time. Car parking is free in the restaurant's lot.

I went to Costco today to try the $4.99 rotisserie chicken mentioned here. I agree with other posters' comments: it's a good bird for the price. I actually could get in and out of Costco fairly quickly today, so maybe in future, it might be worthwhile to try to pop in for this good value. Couple of food items at Costco that I like are:
the smoked salmon. It's pretty good for what it is, and the price is terrific. Portion is big (as typical of Costco), so I have to really be in the mood for this food. (my daily breakfast or lunch for a week +)

Also my wife and I both like the Krab and Shrimp Louie platter for $9.95. More than enough for two people. I'm just going to add a ripe avocodo to it. Yum.
