Message: | Actually, going over my credit card receipts the other day, I was amazed to find virtually none for over $100 (for 2). I don't know if any high end restaurants in LA are "worth it". If I'm spending my own money, I would say some sushi bars fit the bill. I sometimes like a good steak (PDC and Morton's), however with my recent discovery of Harvey Guss, I won't be going as often. I had a great meal at Chinois about six months ago, then a mediocre one just a few months back. My issue with high end restaurants in LA is the lack of consistency and poor service. Also, they lack the luxurious surroundings that many high-end restaurants have in other cities. I have no problem spending my money at places like Boulevard and Chez Panisse, or Grammercy Tavern and Babbo. They are, IMO, at a different level. We do live in the greatest city in the world for Asian dining, and I can't get enough of it. Jon |
