When I went there two years ago with my husband, we ate at a lot of fast food type joints where they serve plate lunches. Those were some of the best meals we had, I will be happy to recommend them if you are looking for that type of food. It's very cheap and the portions are so huge we could get away with splitting one 3-item combo.

However, if you are looking to have a sit down dinner, we ate at Sam Choy's Breakfast, Lunch, Crab & Big Aloha Brewery (580 N. Nimitz Highway, Honolulu, Hawaii 96817, Tel: (808) 545-7979 Fax: (808)545-7997). He has several other restaurants in Hawaii and is a famous cook out there. His motto is, "Never trust a skinny cook." Well said. I had the dungeness crab, which was very good. Also don't forget to have his pineapple cheesecake. Marvelous! Give it a try!
