Message: | Thanks for the suggestion for Alhambra. I know that part of town is loaded with boba teahouses. I've tried Ten Ren at LA's own Chinatown and was disappointed. Way too sweet for me. Maybe another location will be better. To me, a great boba milk tea MUST have all of the following to be enjoyable: (1) fresh, hard on the outside, chewy on the inside, slightly molasses-y black tapioca balls (some places have bitter tasting tapioca--phooey) (2) the sweetness must not overpower the black tea leaves. it should still taste like tea! (Boba World is notorious for serving milky-sugary drinks mislabed as "tea.") (2) machine-sealed lids (I dig those machines!) |
