Shortly after it closed, I called the one in Marina Del Ray and they said they thought one might open in the Hermosa or Manhattan Beach area around Spring 2000, but then that never happened. :( I drove the 40 minutes to eat there just 2 days ago, so I asked again about new locations. They think they might open one in the Farmer's Market area in LA near the CBS Studio, and perhaps one in Long Beach after that. Still far away for me. Unfortunately, the waitress didn't mention a time frame and I forgot to ask.
There's a recipe on www.cyber-kitchen.com but I had a hard time finding clam broth. I bought several bottles of clam juice which weren't cheap, so all-in-all, I would say it's not really worth the expense/effort. And the results pale in comparison to the real thing of course. Actually, the hardest part is finding good dipping bread! And I miss being blissfully ignorant of the amount of butter in it! |
