I will suggest that you look at regions rather than wines. Personnaly for QPR (quality-price-ratio) I think excellent examples are found in the Southern Rhone or Cotes du Rhone and Coteaux de Languedoc>>
For what it's worth, Patricia Wells likes Cotes du Rhone and others from Domaine Gramenon at $12-$20 per bottle. Not sure where it can be gotten here. Any ideas?
