...on Sepulveda, corner of Palms. Sabrett dogs. Even has tables for sit-down. Note, too, thread below that asserts that the ribs sold there as well are good. I wouldn't know because it is "dogs" I go for.
 
Of course, there's Pink's on La Brea (I know, not exactly westside) and another favorite of mine, Tail O'The Pup on San Vicente just up from the Beverly Center/Cedars-Sinai.
 
Want up-scale ? Nate & Al's Deli on Beverly Drive in Beverly Hills has a terrific "dog" plate with L.A's best potato salad and cole slaw. Not cheap, though; after all you are in the Hills of Beverly.
