It was this amazing pear dessert at Boxer - it was at least 6 years ago. The pastry chef was working where she could see the diners, so she smiled when she saw me practically faint from the first delicious bite.
 
More recently and regularly, I always order the chocolate souffle at Joe's in Venice. Order at the beginning of your meal. I've even ordered it when it's not on the menu (or substituted when ordering the prix fixe menu).
