I agree with sunnyla that Dong Chi Mi Gook Soo is first rate. The noodles have a nice, chewy texture and there's a nice chile paste on the table you can mix into the broth. Chinese hand-pulled noodle (lamien) places which are pretty good are Heavy Noodling, 153 E. Garvey, Monterey Park, and a place called Wu's in the San Gabriel mall at Valley and Del Mar in San Gabriel). I also used to like a lamien place in HK supermarket on Pacific in Glendale (just off the 134): a Korean supermarket with a Chinese restaurant with hand-pulled noodles prepared by Mexicans! And not bad. But my wife, a purist, who is from northwestern China where lamen originates from, refused to eat there after her last trip to China. So you can either go to Glendale, or for better noodles, take a 20 hour flight to the border of Inner Mongolia!
I thought the noodles weren't bad, but what do I know!
