Sorry that I can't help you in the valley - but have you checked out Doughboy's on 3rd Street near Crescent Heights? They have approximately 8 homemade soups every day, plus homemade chili that you can have with meat, chicken, or vegetarian. I particularly like the potato, corn, and cabbage soup... though the soup au pistou is outstanding, and my husband can't decide between the french onion soup and the roast garlic. Yum!
