Message: | It really depends what you are looking for. For standard bistro fare, my favorite pinch restaurant is OutTake Cafe, on the corner of Ventura Blvd and Laurel Canyon in the Savon minimall. I've been to this restaurant dozens of times and have never been disappointed. Entrees are about $10-15 (standouts: Chicken Ravoili; Turkey Ravioli; Roasted Cod; Free Range Chicken) and they also have the $1 side salad and $2 corkage fee. Another restaurant that I really enjoyed but haven't had a chance to return to yet is Emmanuel - 11929 Ventura Blvd, at Laurel Canyon. It's a very small restaurant, but has excellent service and very reasonable prices (around $15 and entree). I've also heard good things about Joe Joe's from my sister but have yet to get there. For Thai, I like the Sompun on Ventura Place, which again is located at the Laurel Canyon intersection. It is a simple, clean, family-run restaurant. Their tom yum goong soup is just spicy and sour enough and, if you like garlic, the garlic-pepper shrimp is amazing.
