I've seen some domestic t'ej at Ethiopian markets in Northern Virginia, where I live. I'll see if I can learn something about the producer next time I'm there.
 
To my knowledge, t'ella is only made in the home. The first time I ever had it was at an Eritrean wedding here in Virginia. In Tigrinya it's called sua, and t'ella is called mes.
