Message: | While it would be "tragic" if it were "arson", there are too numerous details left out at this time to begin a "meaningful" collection. In addition, unti it is proven the owners of the plae didn't do it for insurance, I for one would not contribute to such a cause. I find the fact his would be a ongoing "rant" somehat disconcerning for this website. If this was a Los Angeles "favorite", (ala' Canters, or some other landmark place) that had been "torched" or damaged in a disaster, and the owners had improper insurance to cover those costs, I would be more inclined to assist them. It isn't a matter of the establishment being "Afgan" either. I think this board should stick to what it does best, and keep out of the "FEMA" biz. I am shocked that everyone isn't more concerned that there are real problems for hundreds of families in NYC who ultimately will need our support. It seems to me that if "foul play" had anything to do with the destruction or damaging of the establishment, I would think they should be able to get assistance through the proper channels. Certainly this matter isn't what this board was created to address. As I have used "Chow Hound" all over the "USA" , I have never seen postings to discuss these types of topics. If this were a differnt type of board, I think it would be more appropriate. Thanks for your time! - Bob S.
