Message: | Well, last night I took my vegitarian diet and tossd it out the window....Me & my significant other went to Les Sisters in Chatsworth for dinner. I read numerous reviews of the place but was still very surprised. I had "blacked" halibut, and my wife had fried catfish. Both were some of the best Soul food we have had since being back home to visit her family in Georgia in a while. But the sides we ordered were really aamzing, the most flavorful collard greens(not cooked in fat back by the way), very good dirty rice, and sweet potatos. Muffins were good too. Can't eat here too much, or the only "exercise" class I'll be teaching will be "fork lifting"!!! Amazing bread pudding,(lots of bourbon flavor) and my wife had something called "buttermilk pie"??? Never had it before, but I tried a small bite, but since I HATE "custardy" things it did nothing for me... Of all the Soul Food places here in LA except for M&M; which is the only one we have yet to try, this was definately the most authentic soul food we have had. Also the service was incredible! Very personable, caring, and warm. A chowhound "win-win" experience! Now (5:30am Sat.) I am out the door to run 10+ miles to get rid of all the calories before they show up on my butt, and gut!! Ya cant be a healthy chowhound without paying the price! Also is there any feedback recently on "Follow Your Heart"? I grew up here in the west valley, it's been here forever, but never went in. How are the vegitarian dishes there. Is it a "dinner place" or breakfast & lunch only? Word of mouth say's it's pretty good, but Chowhound feedback might be useful. See Ya! Bob S. |
