i ventured back to john o'groats in west los angeles (on pico) today. i saw a lot of pancakes and tuna melts being ordered around me, but i went with the vegetarian hash (vegetables cooked with olive oil) with 2 cilantro potato cakes on top. vegetarian hash? yes, carrots, corn, peppers, onions, garlic, etc. i can't say i've had many dishes quite so unusual. and it was actually quite good. although, i wish i had room for the tuna melts and pancakes too - they looked great.
 
john o'groats gets my vote for the 2nd best breakfast spot in los angeles. who gets #1? unquestionably, uncle bill's pancake house in manhattan beach. nothing beats the cheddar cheese & bacon waffle there. nothing!
 
is it breakfast time again? :)
