I agree. Bay Cities is pretty good quality, but it's not hamische at all, unlike Sorrento, which is very cluttered and homey feeling. They used to have an excellent Spanish olive oil called Lerida, but they refused to take any steps to restock it when they ran out, which is an example of why you might not want to go there. I like it anyway, though. If you do go to Bay Cities, make sure to get some Taramosalata, which is Greek caviar spread. It's cheap--something like 6 bucks a pound--and it's great on crackers. My favorites are Valley Lavosh Hearts, which have the added bonus property that on the back of the box, it says, "Velley Lavosh--it's more than a cracker, it's a cracker-type bread!" Whatever that means. But they're great crackers anyway.
