For a casual breakfast, you might try Cajun Kitchen. For a more "upscale" or a lighter breakfast, Jeannine's Bakeries are good, as well as the recco you already got for LaFond's.
For dinner, you have so many choices, depending on the $$$ you want to spend.
You have already gotten some good reccos, to which I would add Chuck's Steakhouse, Pappagallo's, Olio e Limone, Ca' Dario, Wine Cask, Bouchon or Sage and Onion.
