Thai Nakorn in the Stanton/Buena Park area is probably the best (and most often overlooked) and most authentic Thai restaurant in Orange County. It's a short drive from HB, but worth it. They specialize in Issan-style food, and their menu boasts dozens of items that you won't find elsewhere. The clientele is mostly Thai, which your exchange student friend should find comforting. The restaurant is located near Knott's Berry Farm just off of Beach Blvd. on Stanton Ave.
