Linq is very good, albeit very noisy. Make sure Andre Guerrero is cooking that night. Sit in the room in the back and it is a little quieter. Lucques in truly wonderful and similarly priced. For a little less pricey place, yet similarly sophisticated, have you tried Vermont on Vermont Avenue, just north of Hollywood Blvd? Very good, less expensive, sophisticated yet not stuffy, and their new bar area is a real plus.
