The company that created FronTier, and from it ManiLa and RadioUserland (the "mass market" weblogging $40 version).

You can think of Frontier as a development environment that the other two are built in, but the released product has nearly all the functionality of Frontier (in fact, Frontier just comes with Manila and vice-versa?).

A lot of functionality in their products is implemented in UserTalk, a powerful scripting language on the Mac from even before AppleScript?. Everything in UserTalk is visible to users who want to learn about the system and how to modify things. This simple introduction to creating web services (like the non-Radio JavaScriptRssViewer) was recently fed to RadioUserland users.

This company "eats its own dogfood", as most of the employees keep fairly regular weblogs with UserLand's own products (Dave uses a custom tool though apparently). The software is proprietary, but the spirit is very open.
