This page is about the combination of WikiWiki and WebLog style websites; i try to copy content here over to Meatball:WikiLog , which is on the same topic but has more content, from other wikiers.

Software combining wiki and weblogs:

VanilLa most likely was the first - it is for sure, that the WikiWiki WebLog cross (in VanilLa) was created in december 1999, the legend goes, that this has been done in the night before x-mas.

VanilLa is written entirely in REBOL and implements a WikiWiki with WebLog and comments (on weblog entries) functionality. VanilLa differs in one way from "traditional" WikiWikis? - there is no fully automatic linking (no wiki:SmashingWordsTogether no wiki:CamelCase). Linking to other WikiPages? is done explicitly by putting stars (*) around the page to be linked to.

A-ha! Hop's new wiki Gong (http://gong.helma.at/Helma%20Object%20Publisher/ ) uses stars too. This loses the Wiki:AccidentalLinking , one way that old content stays in the Wiki:WikiNow , but i may have to play with Vanilla myself i guess. I don't know if anyone has successfully defined wiki enough to avoid simple difference of opinion over whether something is a wiki. Everyone has a different WikiEnough??

ZoPe solutions (have either of these actually been done?): WebSeitz: is a part-manual linking of a ZWiki and a ManiLa weblog.

EverythingTwo has rich interlinking and allows diaries, so it's sort of wiki-weblogish

AntVille? (http://www.antville.org/ ) recently was enriched with a Wiki-like system too - the Wiki-part is called 'topics' there.

TWiki has a simple quick-comment feature, done as a plugin - not a full WebLog but a step on the way. See http://twiki.org/cgi-bin/view/Plugins/CommentPlugin . There's been some discussion of how WebLogs? could integrate with Wikis over on TWiki:Codev/WebHome . -- RichardDonkin
