Edit AsciiArt
Art made from the symbols available by typing on a keyboard (computer or typewriter). Anyone know about non-Roman character keyboard-character art? Neat historical thread (it existed before ASCII!): http://www.surfplaza.com/ascii-art/cfbd/Why_is_it_Called_ASCII_Art From reading it: Typewriter Art, edited by Alan Riddell (London, 1975) site:ISBN:0-900626-99-2 (Haven't read the book, so i don't know how old the artform is. Typewriters go back to early 1900s?) It's likened to arts such as quilting, knitting, mosaics and other arrangements of colored brick, tile, colored corn, etc., toy blocks, dominos; i'll add braiding and collage. see news:alt.ascii-art, news:rec.arts.ascii
