Message: | Shamshiri, an Iranian restaurant on Westwood Blvd., south of Santa Monica, has the most delicious fesenjon (wish I knew how to spell that), a chicken stew made with walnuts and ... er, I knew but I just blanked it out. Anyway, it's wonderful. Good lentil based stew as well, and their squab, marinated and broiled, is one of the best in the city -- juicy and full of flavor. The sour cherry rice with boiled chicken is great, the roasted eggplant appetizer is oily, full of garlic, and scrumptious. They serve most of their meats with mounds of plain white rice, but are willing to give you half rice, half salad if you ask. |
