I think she was taken by surprise to find them still on at the dining room in the Bel Air Hotel. I think you will admit that, at other than Chinese dim sum, you don't find the feet left on at any upscale restaurant in LA most people can name. After all, the head is part of the chicken too, and you don't normally find that left attached. Coupled with the sudden dramatic unveiling that the BA Hotel does, she was most assuredly not expecting feet. I think alot of people don't like too much anatomical reality in their food. I know my wife won't order whole Maine lobster because she doesn't want to see the head, et al.
