Larchmont Wine and Cheese, on Larchmont just south of Beverly. I used to live near it, now only stop by when I'm in the neighborhood. What makes them so great is a terrific selection of low-priced Rhone and Languedoc reds, and a somewhat self-defeating habit of stocking small quantities of extremely exclusive, outrageously good wines at about the exact price you would pay straight from the winery. Today I found a Turley Hayne Petite Syrah, a Martinelli Pinot Noir, and a Leonetti Cab for just unbelievable prices. I asked the shopkeeper how he could possibly be so fair. His response was, I just don't understand why more people don't know about us. So, here's my post. Oh, great cheese, too.
