Message: | Here's a recipe for you: (I don't cook by measurement, so adjust to your taste) Braised Ox tails (about 1 1/2 pounds) 3 tblspn olive oil 3 large bay leaves 2 tspn thyme 1 tspn cayenne pepper or cracked red pepper 1 tspn black pepper 1 tblspn onion power 1/2 med chopped brown onions 5 large cloves garlic(that's the Louisiana in me) 1/4 cp chopped celery 1/4 cp chopped green bell pepper 1 tblspn Trader Joes 21 Seasonings (optional) Lawry Seasoning Salt or Salt to taste onion 1/4 cup of med to dark brown roux Trim excess fat from ox tails. Use dutch oven if possible. Lightly brown oxtails in oil. Add water to cover oxtails. Add all ingredients. Bring to boil. Turn down, and simmer until ox tails are tender and braised. Cooking time at least an hour. You can also substitute canned tomatoes instead of roux for oxtail stew. |
