Despite all the fuss, all three of these are good:
VIP Harbor Seafood, 11701 Wilshire, (310) 979-3377
J R Seafood, 11901 Santa Monica, (310) 268-2463
and 102 Santa Monica Place (2nd St north of Colorado), (310) 260-8855
Royal Star Seafood, 3001 Wilshire, (310) 828-8812
Only the last two are in Santa Monica. None of them could be called excellent, but all of them are good. And the Peking duck at the first is far better than the duck at Quan Ju De--unless you like dry, overcooked duck presented to you in a very unattractive fashion.
